Who is responsible

Yann Kost, Frobenstrasse 72, 4053 Basel, Switzerland, is responsible for the processing of personal data on this site. You can reach us at contact@dropclips.io. There is no data protection officer, as the law does not require one for an operation of this size.

What we store and for how long

We store files to process your videos, account records to provide the service, and operational information to diagnose problems and understand how people find Dropclips. We do not use your videos to train AI models. Temporary run media and saved assets have different retention periods.

Email, saved pipelines and account preferences

Until you delete them or your account

Uploaded clips

Unused uploads expire after 48 hours. Clips needed by queued or running jobs stay available until those jobs finish. After a run, originals are retained for 48 hours when your pipeline keeps them, or scheduled for removal when no active run or other retention request needs them.

Results

Available for 48 hours after the run finishes, then scheduled for automatic removal.

Saved logos, fonts and intro/outro assets

Kept for reuse until you remove them or delete your account. Assets needed by a running job cannot be removed until it finishes.

Run history and credit records

Kept with your account after temporary media expires, until you delete the account. Purchase records are retained separately as described below.

First-visit information

The referring website and campaign tags may be associated with your account until you delete it. The corresponding cookie expires after 30 days.

Sign-in codes and sessions

Codes are valid for 10 minutes. Hashed code records and session records may remain with your account after they expire; they are removed when you delete the account.

Operational logs

Logs are rotated by the hosting system. Run diagnostics can remain with your run history until account deletion. Security and error records may remain after account deletion to investigate problems.

Encrypted recovery backups

We make encrypted backups of the database, server settings and saved assets so we can recover from a server failure. Temporary uploaded clips and generated results are excluded from these backups. Database backups can still contain account details, filenames, run history and credit records.

Backups are kept on a rolling schedule of 30 daily, 8 weekly and 6 monthly snapshots. A record or saved asset removed from the live service can remain in an older backup until that snapshot is retired. Backups are reserved for recovery and are not a customer file archive.

Who processes data for us

We use the following providers to host the service, store and process files, take payments, send emails and measure site usage. The information each provider receives depends on the task described below.

Google Analytics

Site usage measurement, including pages visited, referring websites, browser and device information, and interactions. Google receives connection information when your browser contacts its servers. The Google tag loads when you open the site. Google may process data outside Switzerland and the EEA; see Google’s privacy policy.

Website fonts are served directly by Dropclips. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts to load them.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, record first-visit information and measure site usage with Google Analytics.

1. A session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is removed when you sign out.
2. A first-visit cookie that records which page brought you here, so we know which links work. It contains campaign tags and the referring website, can be linked to your account, and expires after 30 days.
3. Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_…) distinguish browsers and sessions. Their expiry follows the Google tag’s settings; visits may renew them.

You can manage cookies in your browser or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics does not prevent you from using Dropclips.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Tell you what data we hold about you
• Correct or delete that data
• Send you a copy in a machine-readable format
• Stop processing it, where the law allows

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from the account page once any running jobs finish. Your profile, saved pipelines and run history are removed from the live database, and remaining files are queued for deletion. File deletion is retried if a storage provider is temporarily unavailable. Purchase records stay for the legal retention period, and older encrypted backups expire on the schedule above.

Complaints

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. A list is published by the European Data Protection Board.
